William P. Kauffman, 80, of Carlisle Gap Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Embassy of Hearthside in State College.
Born Feb. 23, 1942 in Bratton Twp., he was a son of the late Samuel J. and Margaret C. (Renninger) Kauffman. His wife, Georgia K. (Wakefield) Kauffman, whom he married Oct. 8, 1966, preceded him in death on March 14, 2022.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter-in-law, Helen (Byler) Kauffman; and four siblings, Doris J., Samuel J., Deborah R. Molison, and infant Carolyn S.
Surviving are: a son, Roger A. Kauffman of Allensville; two grandchildren, Renee and Matthew Kauffman of Allensville; and eight siblings, Mary I. Bankert and husband Bradley, Donald E. and wife Sandra, Edward H. and wife Darlene, all of Lewistown, Alice M. of Hanover, Anita J., John L., James L. and wife Barbara, Timothy R., all of Lewistown.
He retired from Agway Petroleum in Lewistown where he was a home delivery driver for 40 years.
Bill was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren where he served for many years as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and following major league baseball. His favorite times were spent with family and friends; and he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Randy Fiske officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown; and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the Church.
