Born Dec. 20, 1940, in Alexandria, he was a son of the late Wallace M. and Esther (Lykens) Stryker Sr.  His wife, Dorothy M. (Sunderland) Stryker, whom he married Dec. 30, 1961, survives.

Also surviving are:  four children, Brian W. Stryker and wife Lisa of Reedsville, Melinda K. Kenepp and husband Mark of Reedsville, Melissa A Schomaker and husband Daniel of Lewistown, Bradley C. Stryker of Mt. Union; three siblings, Esther Rushin of Marshville, Missouri, Gary Stryker of Lewistown, Bonnie Stryker of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were five siblings, Merry Wagner, Elsie Lou Rowles, David Stryker, Lois Wagner, and John Stryker.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served on the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam Era.

After 27 years of employment at New Holland in Belleville, he chose early retirement.  As he was never one to remain idle, he later delivered feed for East Gate Feed and Grain for several years.

Wally was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, a former church trustee, and a faithful blood donor to the American Red Cross, donating over 19 gallons throughout the years.

Earlier in life Wally enjoyed hunting, camping and traveling with his wife.

Although a quiet man, Wally was deeply devoted to his family and they never had to doubt his great love for them.
