Obituary

   Troy N. Stimely, 50, of Stone House Lane, McVeytown, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his home.

   Born Nov. 20, 1972 in Lewistown, he was a son of Laura Inaze (Varner) Stimely of McVeytown and the late Gene H. Stimely.  His companion, Jaime R. Harshbarger, survives at their home.

   Also surviving are:  four children, Kyler J. Bingaman and wife Catherine of McVeytown, Cole G. Stimely of Mt. Union, Jaylena M. Schmidt of McVeytown, Taylor P. Harshbarger of McVeytown; four siblings, Melvin Varner and wife Sharon of McVeytown, Crist Stimely and wife Suzanne of McVeytown, Marie French and husband Kevin of Mattawana, Mary Dietz and husband Mike of Mattawana; six grandchildren, Allison, Tanner, Rhys, Kason, Adalyn, Leah; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

   Troy was a self-employed farmer and enjoyed owning and operating Stimely Excavating in Ryde.

   A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Ryde Cemetery with Mr. Bradley "Doc" Kauffman officiating.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the Ryde United Methodist Church, 80 Ryde Rd., McVeytown, PA  17051; or to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St., Philadelphia, PA  19103.
