Stella Shuey

    Stella Shuey, 99, of McVeytown, went to be with our Lord on September 13, 2023.

    Born May 17, 1924 in Mattawana, she was the daughter of the late Pansy (Wincer) and Harry Smith.

    She is survived by one sibling, Eva Romick and she is preceded in death by seven siblings: Marie Claybaugh, Carrie Gage, Violet Searer, Rhoda Peachey, Lorraine Kauffman, Ernest Smith and Hazel Breckville.

    She married Richard ‘Dick’ Charles Beatty on November 22, 1946 and she is survived by their four children: Sandra Rohrer (Lowell), John Beatty (Cheryl), Brenda Beatty-Reid and Sharon Langenfelder (Butch). Her beloved Dick passed away on September 19, 1963.

    Stella then married Junior C. Shuey of Ono, PA on November 22, 1975 who preceded her in death on December 25, 2001.

    Stella enjoyed spending time with her 9 grandchildren: Tony, Jennifer, Melissa, Angela, Austin, Ali, Autumn, Ashley and Abby as well as her 8 great grandchildren: Nick, Ben, Ryan, Noah, Olivia, Jackson, Stella and Sophia. 

    She faithfully attended worship at both The Ferguson Valley Brethren-in-Christ Church and the Pine Glen Alliance Church.

    A celebration of life service will be held at the Pine Glen Alliance Church, 1058 SR 103 North, Lewistown on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. Private interment at Lind Memorial Cemetery in Lewistown will be held at the family’s convenience.  

    The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
