Sandra J. "Sis" (Sunderland) Amtower

   Sandra J. "Sis" Amtower, 82, of Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, passed away at 1:17 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center.
   Born Jan. 6, 1939 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles O. and Bertha E. (Renninger) Sunderland.  Her husband, Walter M. Amtower, whom she married April 12, 1958, preceded her in death on March 27, 2020.
   Also preceding her in death was a brother, Ray A. Sunderland.
   Surviving are:  a son, Dirk A. Amtower and wife Jill of Pembroke, Virginia; a daughter, Amanda L. Kovach of Harrisburg; four siblings, C. Larry Sunderland, James L. Sunderland, Diane E. Rodgers, Edward L. Sunderland and wife Katthy, all of McVeytown; and three grandchildren, Zachary F. Amtower, Heather M. Amtower, and Brendan J. Kovach.
   She retired from the Williamsport National Bank where she worked as a key punch operator.
   A member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church, Sis enjoyed crossword puzzles and her dog, Misty.
   A memorial service for both her and her late husband, Walter, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at the McVeytown United Methodist Church, 3 South Queen St., McVeytown, with Pastor Kim Cartwright officiating.
