Sally Jean Boaz, 87, of McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct0ber 16, 2025 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1938 in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. Andrews Sr. and the late Pearl (Boring) Andrews. Her husband, Ronald C. Boaz, whom she married July 6, 1963, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, David C. Stayrook and wife Janet of Leesburg, Virginia; a daughter, Eleanor A. Morrison and husband Daniel of Hershey; two stepdaughters, Nikki Sunderland and husband Ed of McVeytown, Tami Ranck and husband Greg of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Sydney Stayrook and husband Adam, Oliver Stayrook, Lyndsay Jones-Morrison and wife Laura, Christopher Morrison and wife Rachel; and two great grandchildren, Frances and Luke.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; four sisters, Eleanor Stimely, Thelma Yeo, JoAnn Shoemaker, Beverly Gill; and a brother, Charles S. Andrews Jr.
She was employed as a medical receptionist for Dr. David Schooley in McVeytown for many years.
Sally was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Association. She also volunteered with the McVeytown Ambulance Association in its early years.
Sally enjoyed going out for breakfast with her many friends, and spending time on her porch with family, friends, and neighbors.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025 at the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, 5 North Queen St., McVeytown, with Pastor Kari Swigart officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
