Nancy J. Yoder, 85, formerly of Mattawana, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at William Penn Healthcare in Lewistown.
Born Feb. 20, 1935 in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late John I. and Helen V. (Settle) Harshbarger. Her husband of 61 years, James L. Yoder, whom she married Sept. 29, 1956, preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2017.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Linda L. Bailey; and four brothers, Russell, Marlin, Glen, and John.
Surviving are: two daughters, April Ross and husband Stan of Broomall, Melissa Yoder and companion Steve Schroeder of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight siblings, Audrey J. Stinnett of Stuarts Draft, VA, Delmer L. Harshbarger and wife Bonnie of McVeytown, Deborah M. Dickerson and husband Robert of Naples, FL, Larry E. Harshbarger and wife Susan of Lewistown, Carol L. Sunderland of Palm Bay, FL, Dennis M. Harshbarger and wife Wanda of Lewistown, Rosalie A. Freed and husband Richard of McVeytown, Thomas M. Harshbarger and wife Paula of Mattawana.; and two grandsons, Liem and Logan Ross.
She was a member of the Mattawana Mennonite Church.
An excellant homemaker, she was known for her delicious pies and baked goods. Nancy loved to travel, and she and Jim went camping several times a year with the same group of friends. Nancy also enjoyed bus trips with her friends and sisters, and was an avid reader. She loved all animals, especially her kitties.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care they provided to Nancy over the last four years.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Mattawana with Pastor Crist Mentzer officiating. Please be respectful of the Covid 19 mask and distancing protocol.
