Molly Swigart Obituary

Molly McCormick Swigart, age 77, Wife of Daryl C. Swigart, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in the Paoli Hospital, Paoli, PA. Born in Lewistown, PA, she was the Daughter of Kathryn (Allen) and Robert Wilson McCormick Sr.

She was a graduate of Lewistown High School and the Altoona School of Commerce. She worked as a Wooden Shoe Nursery School teacher and a business admin at the Phoenixville YMCA as well as doing a variety of side gigs of childcare and house cleaning while her children were young. She loved working with children. After a second stint in business school, she began working as an Administrative Assistant for SMS in Malvern, later bought by SIEMENS, "retiring" in 2015. Thoughtful and kind, Molly would always be the one to remember a birthday or life milestone and make sure to send a card - typically filled with a Bible verse, bookmark, clipping, coupon, teabag or other treat. She loved to read all types of books and periodicals, watching British TV murder mysteries or viewing any episode of Judge Judy. She gladly was roped into volunteering for various work, cultural and historical, activities in support of her daughter's career and often tagged along on her business trips getting to experience a variety of historical sites and cities. Active in all the churches she attended in her adult life - deep, life-long friendships were built with the "Phoenixville Home Meeting" family of Church of the Saviour (Wayne, PA). For the past few years, she virtually attended Tenth Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA.

Molly is survived by her two children Stacey Swigart and Mathew Swigart, her brother Robert Wilson McCormick Jr., nephew Robert Wilson McCormick III, niece Kim McCormick Zimmerman (Scott), brother-in-law David Deavor, sister-in-law Peggy Swigart, niece Sherry Pentecost (Jonathan) and many great/great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Daryl C. Swigart, her sisters Kay Deavor, and Susan McCormick Dean, sister-in-law Linda McCormick, in-laws Clair and Ethel Swigart, and brother-in-law, R. Lee Swigart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Spring Run Church of the Brethren, 6712 Ferguson Valley Rd, PO Box 333, McVeytown, PA. Saturday September 30 at 11am. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Phoenixville, PA area.
