Merrill Latherow Obituary

   Merrill F. Latherow, 90, of Ryde, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his home.
   Born April 13, 1930 in Pine Glen, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Mary Blanche (Renninger) Latherow.  His wife, Grace M. Latherow, whom he married July 23, 1949, preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2001.
   Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Carol Ann Walter; and his sister Elsie Collins and husband Donald.
   Surviving are:  a son, Larry F. Latherow and wife Gloria of Ryde; four grandchildren, Angela Hunt and husband Dale, Kevin Latherow and wife Toni, Christopher Latherow and companion Chelcie Ruth, Jessica Hoover; four great grandchildren, Nicole Hunt, Timothy Hunt, Alicia Latherow, Brooke Latherow; three step great grandchildren, Sheri Kenepp, Gerard Lewis, Luke Lewis; and one great great granddaughter, Emmalyn Hunt.
   Merrill was a self-employed sawmiller, taxidermist, and avid hunter.
   He attended the Ryde United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Taxidermy Association.
   A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown with Pastor Brian Myfelt officiating.  Interment will be in Ryde Cemetery.
   A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Ryde United Methodist Church, 80 Ryde Rd., McVeytown, PA  17051.
