Melvin E. "Ed" Shawver, 80, formerly of Valley Street, Lewistown, passed away on Saturday, November14, 2020 at William Penn Healthcare.
Born June 23, 1940 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Nevin E. and Bernice H. (Brown) Shawver Sr.
Also preceding him in death were six siblings, Nevin E. Shawver Jr., Peggy A. Ward, Martha J. Snook. Gerald K. Shawver, Larry L. Shawver, and an infant sister.
Surviving are: two sons, Elmer R. Snyder and wife Michelle of Lewistown, Cody J. Shawver of Huntingdon; and five grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Employed as a truck driver for 30 years, he retired from Overhead Door Corp. in Lewistown.
He was a member of the Lewistown Moose Family Center, the Lewistown Owls Club, and VFW Post #7011 of Lewistown.
Private services will be held with Mr. Charles Carolus officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
