Melvin P. "Shorty Fultz, 76, of Middle Road, Lewistown, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1947 in McVeytown, he was a son of the late Harry J. "Ted" and Vada Mae (Traxler) Fultz. His wife, Mary Jane (Varner) Fultz, preceded him in death on May 13, 2005.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Margaret J. Arnold.
Surviving are: a daughter, Susan Mae Hetrick and husband Erik of Spring Mills; a son Brian K. Fultz and wife Christine of Burnham; five siblings, Herbert J. "Dick" Fultz and wife Brenda of Lewistown, Clyde S. "Doodle" Fultz and wife Lonna of Mifflintown, Donna K. Goss and husband Robert of McVeytown, Connie M. Goodling and husband Arthur of Liverpool, Rick Fultz and wife Cindy of McVeytown; nine grandchildren and their families; and a longtime companion, Nettie Fisher of Lewistown.
Melvin retired from Overhead Door Corp. in Lewistown with 38 years of service.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024 at the Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 8451 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, with Pastor Kenneth Grove officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown.
