Mary Peachey Obituary

   Mary Jane Peachey, 93, of McVeytown, died on Wednesday, Nov 8, 2023, at Greenwood Village in Lewistown.
   Born on Mar. 12, 1930 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Harry Thomas and Laura Grace (Hammaker) Keiser.  Her first husband, James Treman Miller, whom she married Feb. 5, 1949, preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1991. She is also preceded in death by her husband Carl David Peachey Sr., whom she married Jul. 8, 1995.
   Surviving are:  a son, James Lee Miller and wife Sue of Frisco, TX; a daughter, Darla Jane Miller of McVeytown; two grandchildren;  and four great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Harry Keiser in 2003, and two sisters, Helen Irene Varner in 2009 and Ruth Elizabeth Bingaman in 2019.
   She was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church. Mary Jane was an avid seamstress and gardener, always sharing food with others. She and Carl were well known for their scrapple made by the kettle to raise funds for the church.
   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 at the McVeytown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kim Cartwright officiating. Interment will follow at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
   Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown.
   Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Peachey may be made to the McVeytown United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 347, McVeytown, Pa. 17051.
