Mary Alice French, 95, formerly of McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
Born March 30, 1928 in Bratton Twp., she was a daughter of the late William H. and Ruth M. (Kauffman) French, and was known to everyone as Mary Alice.
When she was 12 years old she obeyed the call of Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Her life was a testimony of a God rich in mercy made alive in Christ.
She loved Jesus and the Classic hymns of faith.
Mary Alice was a member of the Mattawana Mennonite Church.
Surviving are: a brother, Ray French and wife Louise; a sister-in-law, "Charlie's" Mary French; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings and spouses, Mark and Mary French, Annie and Harry Smith, Dave and Marjorie French, Paul and Sarah French, Jesse and Elva French, Sam and Savilla French, Harry and Mona French, Andy and Kate French, Charlie French, and Wilma Smucker French.
A graveside committal service will be held for family at Pleasant View Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:30 a.m..
Afterward, friends and family will be welcomed at the Valley View Retirement Community Oakwood Chapel beginning at 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Bender officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Valley View Endowment Fund, 4702 East Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.
