Larry E. Harshbarger, 82, of East Charles St., Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his home.
Born June 6, 1941 in Mattawana, he was a son of the late John I. and Helen V. (Settle) Harshbarger. His wife, Susan C. (Grassmyer) Harshbarger, whom he married Nov. 2, 1963, survives.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Sonia D. Singh, Holly S. Fultz and husband Scott, Marci E. Rhoades and husband Dusty, all of Lewistown; six siblings, Audrey J. Stinnett of Stuarts Draft, VA, Deborah M. Dickerson of Naples, Fl, Carol L. Sunderland of Palm Bay, FL, Dennis M. Harshbarger and wife Wanda of Lewistown, Rosalie A. Freed and husband Richard of McVeytown, Thomas M. Harshbarger and wife Paula of Mattawana; seven grandchildren, Jordan Rose and wife Misty, Josh Rose, Dani Miklos and husband Bernie, Mitch Fultz and wife Halle, Jake Rhoades and wife Ellie, Max Fultz and wife Brittany, Mia Rhoades; nine great grandchildren: Emmett, Connor, Parker and Paisley Rose; Sawyer, Bensen, and Saydee Miklos; Jesse Rhoades; and Olivia Fultz.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Linda L. Bailey, Nancy J. Yoder; and five brothers, Russell, Marlin, Glen, John, and Delmer.
Larry retired from the melt shop at Standard Steel in Burnham, and later drove cars for the Blaise Alexander of Lewistown.
He was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church.
Larry enjoyed traveling near and far to watch his grandchildren's sporting events, attending the monthly Standard Steel retiree breakfasts, and solving sudoku puzzles. He was also and avid Penn State fan.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023 at Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Stephanie Rupert officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the Church.
