Kay L. (Shottsberger) Dunmire

   Kay L. Dunmire, 85, of McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
   Born April 1, 1940 in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Elsie J. (Powell) Shottsberger.  Her husband, H. Dean Dunmire, whom she married June 16, 1961, preceded her in death on March 31, 2018.
   Surviving are:  three children, Amy J. Mintzer and husband Dean of Williamsport, Eric S. Dunmire and wife Jennifer of McVeytown, Brent A. Dunmire of McVeytown; six grandchildren, Amanda Quinn, Lindsay Mintzer, Margaret Mintzer, Wesley Mintzer, Molly Dunmire, John Dunmire; and five great grandchildren.
   She was employed as a registered nurse in labor and delivery at Lewistown Hospital, and later worked for Dr. Aldinger, retiring in 2002.
   Kay was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church where she served as a choir member for many years.  She also volunteered with the McVeytown Ambulance Association.
   While she enjoyed working with infants at the hospital and reading about Amish culture, she most loved time spent with her family.
   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2025, at the McVeytown United Methodist Church with Pastor Kim Cartwright officiating.  Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
   A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church.
