John D. Prendergast

   John D. Prendergast, 79, of Reedsville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 1.  Born on October 28, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John and Kathryn (Murphy) Prendergast. On June 3, 1967 he married the love of his life, Violet (Fisher) Prendergast who survives at home after 53 years of marriage.  John was a graduate of Saint Anthony’s High School in Smithfield, NY. 

    Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, John Prendergast of Reedsville, James Prendergast and his wife, Julie, of Mountain View, CA, Joshua Prendergast and his wife, Lori, of Lake Katrine, NY, Joel Prendergast and his wife, Marcia, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jeremiah Prendergast and his wife, Jean, of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Allison, Zachary, Abbygail, Lucas, Jillian, Iona, Keegan, Logan, Kalista, Zane, Samantha, Layla, Damian, and Joshua Jr. 

    John loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all of his heart, and was fiercely proud of each one.  He enjoyed the outdoors and music, and was a voracious reader.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date.
