Obituary

   John H. Mellinger, 62, of North Walnut St., Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

   Born Jan. 29, 1961 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Clarence R. Mellinger and the late Ida C. (Shilling) Wheeler.  His wife, Laurie D. (Yoder) Mellinger, whom he married May 26, 1989, survives.

   Also surviving are:  a son, Ethan E. Mellinger of Lewistown;  four siblings, Robert E. Mellinger and wife Jane of Lewistown, Richard A. Mellinger and wife Peggy of Lewistown, Gina M. Spagnoletti and husband John of Burnham, and Leon "Buzz" Kulp of Lewistown.

   Preceding him in death was a brother, Joseph Mellinger.

   Currently employed at First Quality in Lewistown, he previously had worked at Masland-Lear Corp. for 25 years and Ames True Temper for six years.

   John was an avid Penn State Football fan and enjoyed Hunting and fishing.

   A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Centre Union Church, 200 Greenwood Ave., Yeagertown, with Pastor Kurtis Swisher officiating.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centre Union Church, 200 Greenwood Ave., Yeagertown, PA  17099.
