James E. Crozier, 75, of Crozier Loop, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Mifflintown.
Born Aug. 2, 1947 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Ira W. and Carrie M. (Harshbarger) Crozier, and a step-son of the late Rose Crozier. His wife, Patricia E. (Rheam) Crozier, whom he married May 29, 1971, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Douglas A. Crozier of McVeytown, Andrew J. Crozier and wife Serenna of McVeytown; three grandchildren, Selina Crozier and fiance Hunter Stake, Dakota Crozier, and Lacy Crozier.
He was a 1965 graduate of Penns Valley High School and served in the Army Reserves.
Jim retired as a machinist from First Quality in Lewistown, and previously worked at New Holland and Donsco. He also drove bus for Yoder Tourways.
He was a member of the Ryde United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Jim also served his community as a life member of the McVeytown Fire Co., filling the roles of chief and chaplain, as well as community Santa Claus. He also volunteered with the McVeytown Ambulance and as a Boy Scout leader.
Family was important to Jim. He spent a lot of time fishing with his family and doting on his grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the McVeytown Fire Hall. A last call will be issued at 8:00 p.m.
Private interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
