Harry Carothers Obituary

   Harry F. Carothers, 79, of Evergreen Road, McVeytown, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Greenwood Village in Lewistown.
   Born May 21, 1943 in Altoona, he was a son of the late Francis S. and Helen E. (Shope) Carothers.  His wife, Patricia A. (Berger) Carothers, whom he married July 1, 1963, survives.
   Also surviving are:  four children, Michael T. "Ted" Carothers and wife Tammy of Belleville, Terri A. McCoy and husband Patrick of McVeytown, Tina M. Bowersox and husband Vince of Lewistown, Casey J. Carothers and wife Brandi of Tyrone; a sister, Twila Mae Kimberly and husband Robert of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
   Preceding him in death were three siblings, Geraldine L. Robuck, Francis J. Carothers, and infant, Gerald L. Carothers.
   He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served from 1960 to 1972, and later retired from Lear Corp. in Lewistown.
   Harry was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
   He also enjoyed golfing and bowling.
   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Father William Weary officiating.  Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
   A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 at the funeral home.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, 3 W. Monument Square, Suite 203, Lewistown, PA  17044.
