Gary W. Miller

   Gary W. Miller, 80, of Big Ridge Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Greenwood Village in Lewistown.

   Born July 8, 1943 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Harold B. and Grace M. (Swartz) Miller.  His wife, Linda T. Miller, whom he married July 11, 1964, preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 2019.

   Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Ronald E., Clifford T., and Norman L. Miller.

   Surviving are:  a daughter, Sonya K. Ziegler and husband Paul of New Bloomfield; a son, Randy W. Miller and wife Lori of Belleville; a brother, H. George Miller and wife Doris of McVeytown; three grandchildren, Max T. Ziegler, Rae E. Heiges and husband Ridge, and Emily A. Miller.

   He was employed at Rhodes Oil Co. in Lewistown for 49 years.

   A member of the Strodes Mills Baptist Church, he served as a church trustee for many years.

   In his younger years he was an avid pilot, and still enjoyed attending Mifflin County Airport's monthly fly-in breakfasts.

   Gary was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife, Linda, for many years; as well as a great father and grandfather.  Whether it was a campfire or sledding with the grandchildren, he made every family activity fun.

   A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 at the Strodes Mills Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan God officiating.  Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.

   A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
