Evelyn D. (Glace) McKee

   Evelyn D. McKee, 84, of McVeytown, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023.

   Born April 6, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Albert A. and Vera (Williams) Glace.  Her husband of 65 years, Stanley E. McKee, continues to live at their home in Ferguson Valley.

   Also surviving are:  three children, Stanley A. McKee and wife Cindy of McVeytown, Donna McKee Rhodes and husband Loren of Huntingdon, Gordon R. McKee and wife Melissa of McVeytown; six grandchildren, Erica Hayden, Aaron Rhodes, Joel Rhodes, Jon McKee, Ashton McKee, Montana McKee; four great grandchildren, James Hayden, Declan Hayden, Linden Rhodes, and Eli Rhodes.

   Preceding her in death were a son, Edward M. McKee; a great granddaughter, Emerie Rhodes; and three siblings, Robert Cook, Albert Glace, and Martha Glace.

   Evelyn worked as a phlebotomist at Lewistown Hospital prior to her retirement, and also served as an EMT with the McVeytown Ambulance Company.  She and her husband managed a dairy farm on which she gardened, canned produce, cooked, and baked with amazing ability.

   She loved her family and enjoyed reading, working in the kitchen, and resting on the porch swing.

   She was also a faithful member of Spring Run Church of the Brethren.

   A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, 6712 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, with Pastors Craig & Kate Gandy officiating.  Private interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
