Evelyn A. Harshbarger, 102, of Blue Juniata Drive, Lewistown, and formerly of McVeytown, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at her home.
Born Dec. 30, 1919 in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late Earl S. and Edith (Parchey) Espigh. Her husband of 75 years, Paul A. Harshbarger, whom she married May 31, 1941, preceded her in death on March 27, 2017.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Marjorie French; and two brothers, Lloyd and Gene Espigh.
Surviving are: a son, Rodney P. Harshbarger of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Amy Sward and husband Edward, Daniel Harshbarger and wife Brandy; five great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, the McVeytown Fire Co. Auxiliary, and the McVeytown Ambulance Auxiliary.
Evelyn enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, embroidery, and holiday picnics with her family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Kate Gandy officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
