Elsie M. (Latherow) Collins

  Elsie M. Collins, 88, of Pine Glen Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 4, 2020 at her home.
   Born June 19, 1932 in Bratton Twp., she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary B. (Huffman) Latherow.  Her husband, Donald C. Collins, whom she married July 28, 1951, preceded her in death on June 3, 2019.
   Surviving are:  two sons, Clifford E. Collins of Mattawana, Stanley D. Collins and wife Rhonda of Lewistown; a brother, Merrill F. Latherow of McVeytown; two grandchildren, Dane Collins and wife Danielle, Rebecca Collins; and a great granddaughter, Mackenna Collins.
   A homemaker and a strong woman of faith, Elsie was an active member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren where she helped with church meals and taking care of the flowers.  She also served as secretary for the Pine Glen Cemetery.
   An avid gardener, she also enjoyed canning, tending to her apple orchard, and the company of her dachsunds.
   A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at the Pine Glen Cemetery with Pastor Randy Fiske officiating.
   The family requests that those attending follow CDC guidelines by wearing masks and socially distancing.
