Ellen F. Miller, 88, of Loop Road, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born April 26, 1934 in Siglerville, she was a daughter of the late Fred L. and Kathryn S. (Civitts) Baker Sr. Her husband, James E. Miller, whom she married Feb. 23, 1952, preceded her in death on June 4, 2021.
Also preceding her in death was an infant son, Michael Lee Miller; and six siblings, Jeanette Skopic, Betty Houser, John Baker, twin brothers Frank Baker and Fred Baker Jr., and her twin sister Helen Allenbaugh.
Surviving are: a son, Gary J. Miller and wife Kathi of McVeytown; a daughter, LeAnn E. Koeck and husband Mark of Huntingdon; a brother, Robert Baker and wife Lucy of McClure; a grandson, Richard W. Miller and wife Crista of McVeytown; two great grandchildren, Devin Miller and wife Kayla, Kadence Miller; three great great grandchildren, Abel, Annika, and Seeley.
She was employed at Fisher Electronics in Milroy, and was a senior citizen van driver for J & D Busing. She also created wedding and Christmas floral arrangements.
Ellen was a member of the Atkinson Mills United Methodist Church and attended the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren.
As the bass player for the Polka Dots, she performed at local barn dances, square dances, and fire halls.
Ellen enjoyed crocheting, sewing, decorating, and planting and mulching her flower garden. Most of all she loved time spent with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Randy Fiske officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
