E. Norene (Pennebaker) Ritchey

   E. Norene Ritchey, 83, of Port Matilda, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
   Born Jan. 30, 1939 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Elsie (Cavanaugh) Pennebaker.  Her husband, George W. Ritchey, whom she married March 21, 1970, preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2013.
   Also preceding her in death was a daughter-in-law, Melanie Ritchey.
   Surviving are:  a son, Terrence Ritchey of Pittsburgh; three grandsons, Wesley, Eli, and Caleb Ritchey; and a great grandson, Gavin Ritchey.
   A graduate of Lock Haven State College, she taught grades K-2, first for three years in Harrisburg and then for 34 1/2 years in the Bald Eagle Area School District.
   Following retirement Norene enjoyed traveling, camping with her husband George, and going on vacations with her grandsons.  She also enjoyed reading, working outside, collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia, and writing as a pen pal to students in her local school district.
   Norene was a member of the State College Assembly of God, the Centre County Retired Teachers Association, and the P.S.E.A.
   A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Paul Waldecker officiating.  Interment will be in Saint Mark's Cemetery, Lewistown.
   A viewing will be held from noon until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
