Doris I. Rupert 93, formerly of McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the home of her son, Samuel, and his wife Michele, in Huntingdon.
Born Dec. 2, 1932, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Augustus I. and Grace M. (Miller) Miller. On June 23, 1950 she married her husband, William H. Rupert Sr. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2009.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Barbara D. Yetter on Nov. 1, 2001; a son-in-law, Donald P. Yetter; six siblings, Ethel Boaz, Robert Miller, Helen Casner, Lester Miller, and two infants.
Surviving are: three children, Sally G. Yoder and husband Dennis Of Lewistown, William H. Rupert Jr. and wife Billie of Lewistown, Samuel M. Rupert and wife Michele of Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren, Chris E. Yoder and wife Stephanie, Jason N. Yoder and companion Amber, Justin B. Yoder, Jeromy M. Yetter and wife Jessica, Ryan W. Rupert and wife Christine, Jessica N. Follmer, Tyler J. Yetter and wife Lauren, Alicia A. Michaels and husband Anthony, Michael J. Kalos and companion Jada, Erick S. Rupert; two step grandchildren, Matthew Speck and companion Hayley, Bryant Speck and wife Mary; and 18 great grandchildren.
She retired from the Mifflin County School District, having worked in the cafeteria and as a custodian in the Rothrock and Strodes Mills schools.
Doris was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and the Work and Win Sunday School Class. She also sang in the church choir, played the piano and organ, and served on numerous committees.
She enjoyed volunteering with the McVeytown Fire Co. Auxiliary, attending T.O.P.S, dining out with her friends, and reading.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026 at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Connie Maclay officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
