Doris M. (Hostler) McElwain

   Doris M. McElwain, 91, formerly of Sheaffer Drive, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.
   Born Dec. 6, 1930 in Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis J. and Margaret (Moad) Hostler.  Her husband, John H. "Herb" McElwain, whom she married Oct. 3, 1948, preceded her in death on May 14, 2010.
   Also preceding her in death was a brother, Emory S. Earnest.
   Surviving are:  two sons, John D. McElwain and wife Jean of McVeytown, Daniel L. McElwain and wife Sandra of Farmersville, TX; four grandchildren, Angela Benn and husband John of Belleville, Chelsa Lanciano and husband Eric of Lewistown, Heather Matcoff and husband Steven of Wylie, TX, Dereck McElwain and wife Ashley of Hamburg; six great grandchildren, Kyle Kurtz companion Olivia Carter, Evan Kurtz and wife Blaine, Paige Lanciano and companion Chase Pollock, Bree Lanciano, Aubrey Matcoff, and Chase Matcoff.
   Doris retired from James Havice, Inc. in April, 1992, and also had worked at J.G. McCrory's, Yetter's Restaurant, and the American Viscose Corporation.
   She was a member of the Strodes Mills Baptist Church and attended the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren.
   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Randy Fiske officiating.  Interment will be in Spring Run Cemetery, McVeytown.  
   A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022 at the funeral home.
