Doris L. (Heath) Forsythe

   Doris L. Forsythe, 92, of Lockport Road, Lewistown, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Brookline Manor in Mifflintown.

   Born Sept. 5, 1931 in Lewistown , she was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Beatrice E. (Werner) Heath.  Her husband, Nelson E. Forsythe, whom she married Nov. 9, 1951, preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2022.

   Also preceding her in death were 11 siblings:  Lester, Helen, Thelma, George, Bob, Mable, Edith, Patricia, Arla, Harold, and Harry.

   Surviving are:  a daughter, Nicola A. Hood and husband Richard of Gibsonia; two grandchildren, Dr. Steven N. Hood and wife Jennifer, Lori Lynn Barbieri and husband Brian; four great grandchildren, Sean, Matthew, Anthony, and Nicolena.

   She was formerly employed as a supervisor of files for CNA Insurance in Pittsburgh.

   Doris was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling the Western United States with her husband.

   A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Rev. William Kuhn officiating.  Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.

   A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
