David L. Swigart

   David L. Swigart, 84, of Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, went home on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his home.
   Born April 1, 1937 in Oliver Township, he was a son of the late J. Wesley and Marion L. (Suloff) Swigart.  His wife, Ruth Erla (Carr) Swigart, whom he married Oct. 11, 1956, survives.
   Also surviving are:  four children, Michael S. Swigart and wife Virginia of New Paltz, NY, Stacy A. Nagle and husband Frank of Conyers, GA, Kimbra G. Miller and husband Wade of Long Valley, NJ, Daniel E. Swigart and wife Denise of Mifflin; a sister, Kay E. Kearns of Bel Aire, MD; 12 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
   Preceding him in death were two brothers, Donald W. and Robert S. Swigart.
   He was employed by AT&T as a facility manager for 31 years.  Following retirement he was a driver for Yoder Tourways in McVeytown for 10 years.
   Dave was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, McVeytown, where he served as a deacon and on various church committees.
   He also was an avid hunter.
   A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, 6712 Ferguson Valley Rd., McVeytown, with Pastors Craig and Kate Gandy officiating.  Interment will be in Spring Run Cemetery.
   Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
