Daley J. "Sonny" Huffman

   Daley J. "Sonny" Huffman Jr., 90, of McVeytown, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
   Born July 11, 1930 in McVeytown, he was a son of the late Daley J. and Lillian M. (Machamer) Huffman Sr.  His companion of 48 years, Barbara Barker of Yeagertown, survives.
   Also surviving are:  five children, Lisa B. Wise and husband Noah of Burnham, Tina B. Dinsmore and husband Harry of Lewistown, Darlene L. Hildebrandt and husband Barry of McAlisterville, Steven M. Huffman and companion Sharon of Gouldsboro, Ronald Lee Huffman; five siblings, Ruth Armstrong and husband Ira of Mt. Union, Anna Mary Smith of Burnham, Roy Donald Huffman and wife Betty of Mifflin, Jean Treaster of McVeytown, Robert Huffman of Lewistown; numerous grandchildren and their families; as well as a beloved niece Ashley Soccio, husband Nick, and their daughters Maria and Allison.
   Preceding him in death were six siblings, Charles, Miles, Bruce, Glen, William, and Shirley.
   He was employed as a crane operator at Standard Steel in Burnham, retiring with 42 years of service.
   Sonny was an avid hunter and Harley Davidson enthusiast.
   According to his daughters Lisa and Tina, he was the best man they ever knew.
   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor John Walters officiating.  
   A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
