Obituary

   D. Jean Notestine, 86, of North Queen Street, McVeytown, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at William Penn Healthcare in Lewistown.
   Born March 20, 1936 in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late Carl R. and Hazel (Grassmyer) McCormick.  Her first husband, Edwin M.S. Blessing, preceded her in death in 1960.  Her second husband, George E. Notestine, preceded her in death in 2000.
   Surviving are:  two sons, Edwin C. Blessing and wife Kim of McVeytown, Eric K. Notestine of Manassas, Virginia; a grandson, Brody Blessing and wife Casey of Baltimore, Maryland; two step grandchildren, Shanna Cowan and spouse Harry Hasting of Shippensburg, and Casey Cowan and wife Jolene of Huntingdon.
   A 1954 graduate of Bratton-McVeytown-Oliver High School, she worked for many years at Lewistown Trust Company and Juniata Valley Bank.
   Jean was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, and cherished time spent with family and friends.
   Her family would like to thank Dr. Ricardo Carter and staff, as well as the staffs of Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital and William Penn Healthcare for their care and dedication.
   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the McVeytown Presbyterian Church with Pastor Scott Andrews officiating.  Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
   A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 323, McVeytown, PA  17051.
