Charles Snyder Andrews Jr., 87, of McVeytown, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Born Aug. 19, 1937, in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Charles S. Andrews Sr. and the late Pearl (Boring) Andrews. His loving wife of 46 years, Yvonne B. (Bossinger) Andrews, survives.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean M. (McCullough) Andrews; four sisters, Eleanor Stimely, Thelma, Yeo, JoAnn Shoemaker, Beverly Gill; and a stepson, Mike Kuhn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Sally Boaz and husband Ronald of McVeytown; two sons, Charles Andrews and wife Peggy of McVeytown, Mike Andrews and wife Melissa of McVeytown; three stepchildren, Tonya Snyder and husband Randy of Richfield, Raymond Kuhn of Arizona, Angie Yoder and husband Rick of Richfield; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Charles was a self-employed truck driver for many years before driving for Ray Sunderland Trucking. He then worked for Lansberry of Woodland before finishing his career driving for Class 1 Transport.
His interests included woodworking, dirt track and NASCAR racing, riding his tractor, and most importantly spending time with his family.
He was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Rev. Kari Swigart officiating. Private interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
