Carl D. Peachey

   Carl D. Peachey Sr., 87, of Orchard Lane, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2023 surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter Jo.
   Born July 27, 1935 in Belleville, he was a son of the late Joseph Levi and Minerva Sylvia (Glick) Peachey, and a stepson of the late Helen (Stuter) Peachey.
   His wife, Mary Jane (Keiser) Peachey, survives.
   Also surviving are:  five children, Carl D. "Butch" Peachey Jr. and wife Mabel of McClure, Robert L. "Bob" Peachey and wife Stephanie of Lewistown, Mary E. Golden and husband Keith of Dothan, Alabama, Jo A. McCardle of Lewistown, Beth E. Peachey of Lewistown; two step-children, Darla Miller of McVeytown, James Miller of Texas; four siblings, Rhoda Peachey of Belleville, Vivian Bender of Ontario, Canada, Betty Peachey of Vero Beach, Florida, Evelyn Pope and husband Frank of State College; nine grandchildren and their families.
   Preceding him in death were three siblings, Mary Ellen Peachey, Donald Peachey, and Esther Yoder.
   For most of his life Carl was a self-employed dairy farmer.  After retiring he worked numerous side jobs throughout the years.
   He was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church and enjoyed auctions and tinkering in his workshop.
   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Kurtis Swisher officiating.  Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
   A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023 at the funeral home.
