C. Darwin Heister, 82, of Pine Tree Lane, McVeytown, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 29, 1943, in Bratton Township, he was a son of the late Charles William and Marian (Allison) Heister. His wife, Patricia A. (Harshbarger) Heister, whom he married Sept. 17, 1977, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Lori A. Turner of Lumberton, North Carolina; three brothers, Ronald Heister and wife Bernadette of Mattawana, Larry Heister and wife Velma of Granville, Carl Heister of Camp Hill; a sister, Jane Cramer and husband Mark of Mifflintown; a granddaughter, Kali Harshbarger; and three great grandchildren, Annabelle, Brantley, and Freya.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carrie Marie Heister; and three brothers, Darl, Robert, and Richard.
He was employed as a roofer by J.M. Young and Sons in Belleville for 33 years.
Darwin enjoyed mountain rides through Licking Creek and raising calves.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Living Springs Mennonite Church, 565 Ridge Road, McVeytown, with Minister Sylvan Yoder officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time-of-service Saturday at the church.
