Betty L. Cavanaugh, 84, of Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at William Penn Healthcare.
Born Dec. 27, 1937 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Ruth C. (Heinley) McMullen Sr. Her husband, Marvin A. Cavanaugh Sr., whom she married Sept. 20, 1956, preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1983.
She was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are: six children, Marvin A. Cavanaugh Jr. and wife Nina of McVeytown, Douglas B. Cavanaugh and wife Julie of McVeytown, Sonja K. Miller and husband Jeffrey, Bradley A. Cavanaugh, Heidi J. Picketts and husband Bill, Jennifer J. Kenepp and husband Chad, all of Lewistown; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was formerly employed as a nurse's aide at Ohesson Manor, as well as a home health aide, and as a waitress at Wanda's Diner in Strodes Mills.
Betty was a member of Centre Union Church and attended Pine Glen Alliance Church. She also volunteered as an attendant with the McVeytown Ambulance Association.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Pine Glen Alliance Church, 1058 State Route 103 North, Lewistown, with Pastors Daniel Stegeman and Donald Weidman officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church..
