Betty Jean Adams, 94, of McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Gayle.
Born Feb. 4, 1930 in Kistler, she was a daughter of the late George and and Demma (Wakefield) Swartz. Her husband, Harry G. Adams, whom she married Oct. 27, 1951, preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2021.
Also preceding her in death were five sisters and a great grandson, Zeb Franklin.
Surviving are: two daughters, Karen Stimely (Steve), Gayle Mumper (Mike); four grandchildren, Beth White (Thomas), Amy Franklin (Glen), Michelle Hesser (Steve), Dana Grove (Brad); eight great grandchildren, Demma Franklin, Rylan White (Michala), Rebecca Hesser (Derek), Laura Hesser (Anthony), Dustin Hesser, Morgan Barger (Josh), Gabe Grove (Sierra), Luke Grove; five great great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Ember, and Meredith Ferguson, Jack Barger, and Zayliah Grove.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren where she served as a deaconess and taught Sunday school for over 30 years.
The family would like to offer special thanks to her great granddaughter, Rebecca, her special friend and caregiver, Dottie Womer, and her hospice nurses, Morgan, Nicole, and Keisha.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2024 at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Connie Maclay officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
